Nostalgia is a service connecting customers with a team of designers to create a personalised collection of their memories in the form of a photobook. This brand was created in response to the overused graphics and layouts often observed throughout the current photo merchandise market. Nostalgia takes pride in its unique and handcrafted photobooks, which also employ a photo-collage style, further demonstrating the incredibly personalised nature of these products and how they aim to capture the joy and feeling of each memory.
To best communicate Nostalgia’s service, I chose to use my own childhood photographs to give depth and authenticity to the brand which can be used across the brand’s marketing. Overall, the visual identity of Nostalgia is fun and distinct where all the brand elements work effectively together to convey the brand’s values of creativity, quality, and care.
The final element of the brand showcase is a vertical video suited to the format of social media such as Instagram and TikTok.
This video was created using a stop-motion animation video technique. Overall, roughly 300 frames were used to make this 24-second video. I chose this technique as it works effectively in combining both digital and physical elements of the brand while showcasing what a simple photograph can turn into - both through the power of stop motion and the handcrafted photobook.
